Mental Clean-Up Part 1

–   Practical Application of Metaphysical   –

Have you done mental clean up lately?  Many of us have a very busy life and our brain is working non-stop.  Meditation is one method to declutter our brain but sometimes we need something further.

Release-Writing

One such method is to write out everything that is in our mind.  This is different to a “To Do List”, as that is selecting only actions we must do.  Here, we write all that goes on in our head, to let it all out in a raw form.  We are not to dress any of it up to make it sound good.  It has to be our core emotion and thoughts, irrespective of whether it’s correct, makes sense or not.  Some may be just an immediate emotion or distraction like “I crave chocolate” or “I’m bored” for instance.  We still write these minor thoughts too.  That way, more deeper ones will also follow, as we are not being selective in what we are writing.  Aim for few pages each day.  Once we get the hang of it, we can fill the pages more with deeper thoughts rather than minor ones.

After all is written for the day, we go over them to analyse.  Anything repetitive on daily basis, requires work on it separately.  For each, have an action plan and take action to complete the process.  That way, we can release the spaces that they used to take over in our head.

For those that are new to release-writing, repeat this process daily for at least 5 weeks so that it will become easy to release the emotion and thoughts.  Avoid perfectionism, stick to the minimum pages set at the beginning and just enjoy the process.  Few pages are usually a good starting point.  For those that are natural at writing their heart out, resetting can be done daily to remain efficient, or periodical whenever deep resetting for a good clean up is sought.  Whichever the frequency, this method enables deeper understanding about ourselves as well as decluttering our mind/head.

In the part 2 of the Mental Clean-Up, we will cover in more details on what to do with certain repeated thoughts.

Best wishes, for a wonderful release!
