We Actually Chose Our Parents!

–   Practical Application of Metaphysical   –

“Our parent/s hold the hint to our unfinished lesson”

Before we come down to earth to do our lesson, we choose our parent/s and any setup around the life that we will be born into.  It doesn’t necessarily need to be our biological parent but those that will play the role as our parent, or those that provides significant presence in our psyche.

We usually choose the hardest lesson we need to learn to be linked to them, as it’s harder to totally run from our own family.  Even though we succeed in disconnecting with them, permanent dismissal can be very difficult, so it’s a perfect setup to link it to our challenging lesson.  That way, we will get to have more than one chance, even if we end up deciding to run from it at certain stage of our life.

Lessons we run from can chase us until we finish.  We may be able to run for a while, but it can resurface again in the future.  So, the easiest thing to do is to be open and observant in day to day, looking for anything that can be learned proactively.  Sometimes they will show us their weaknesses as a mirror reflection of our own weaknesses.  Other times, it’s their strength that teaches us to strive more to reach for the same.  It can also be skills we end up acquiring through certain repetitive interactions with them.

Quite often, the harder the relationship with them, the bigger and deeper the reward in terms of wisdom and advancement.  We may not realise the implications at the time we are facing the challenges, but we may get a positive surprise later on with wisdom and skills we collected from those experiences.

If anyone says “Oh well, we can’t choose our parent”, maybe let them know that, that is far from the truth.  They don’t need to settle for whatever the disappointment they are feeling.  After all, we chose them with a good reason.  Look for it by facing it head-on and collect all the treasures from the process.
